Bharat (India) is witnessing change, as she has always been. Significance and reach of Civil Society is increasing. Right to Information is giving teeth to various activists who have been working for eradicating inefficiencies in the system and looking to improve governance. In all these, blaming the government has been increasing like never before. And by being arrogant politicians have missed the chance!! Civil society organisations are here to stay and in times to come, the numbers are going to increase and needless to mention will enjoy larger public support. So it is in the best interest of the government  to start working effectively. The feeling of being representative of people and could enjoy full powers is not going to do any good to government. When government will relinquish the feeling that it is supreme and ensure that civil society organisations perform more effectively, it will ensure that it is governing the nation in best possible manner.

How will this be possible?

For this we need people who take Public Policy as graduation, study best models existing in different parts of world or which existed in past times. At the same time extensive research that would be done, will help practitioners to take informed decisions. When the takers of this program will become part of the governance ( as defined by Osborne and Gaebler- governance is a process by which people collectively solve their problem and meet the needs of society), the efficiency and effectiveness will be achieved in the government.
