Many people are against reservation because of it being against merit, equal opportunities, transparency issues, creamy layer issues, economic status issues etc.
I do not belong to any category, I am not supporter of BSP etc parties, neither I am a world bank / ford foundation funded ngo… still I am in favour of reservation… why?
- Reduced corporate control over economy – Currently no reservation in private sector and 50% reservation in government is beneficial for corporate sector. They get 50% of higher percentile candidate (rejected because of reservation) at low salaries, as bargaining power of these candidates in absence of options is less. So, reservation if introduced in the private sector too, corporate will strive hard to work and will work with reduced efficiency. This will bring government and corporate at par and bargaining power with government will reduce. Government need innovation, creativity and better managed processes for working, for which they depend on corporate. Corporate enjoy this because of the talent pool rejected from entering government are available to them at low cost. Hence reservation in corporate will be an advantage for government.
- Varn Sankar would be reduced – People (including me) will not settle for paths which are less tough to travel and will not seek easier options. Following Varnaashram is difficult task, which is avoided in presence of easier job options. More reservation will force people to stick to their respective duties and not crave for rights.
- End of narrative of historical injustice – भारत द्वेषी (Bharat dweshi) people will get no place to keep on shouting about the narrative of historical injustice done based on caste system in Bharat. Large number of post modernists sepoys, ngos will be left with no sympathy gaining issues.
- Stronger people groups and communities – People will not be recipient of services from corporate or government. They will know that solutions will have to be worked by them in communities, social groups, joint families etc. AAP (Aam Aadmi Phenomenon) will take the back seat and nation will move towards self-reliance.
Let us re-built a strong Bharat that is not a rights-beggar but a selfless doer…which guides and leads the world.
